The 2010 Coverdell Champion Hospital of the Year Awarded to Liberty Regional

Liberty Regional Medical Center was presented this award in March by the Georgia Department of Community Health in recognition of the hospitals valuable contributions to The Georgia Coverdell Stroke Registry and its STROKE Excellence. Liberty Regional Medical Center now offers Stroke Telemedicine in partnership with St. Josephs/Candler Health System. Patients coming into the Emergency Department presenting with stroke symptoms are immediately connected via telemedicine with a St. Josephs/Candler Health System Neurologist with whom Liberty Regionals emergency team works directly to diagnose and treat the stroke within that critical window of opportunity for receiving the necessary medication if needed.
